Robert Louis Stevenson novels pale in comparison and this is not a novel! Clark and his men accomplished an amazing feat with their winter march to Vincennes. I cannot imagine wading through floods for days even in a mild winter. Great book -- read it.Product details

The Conquest of the Illinois George Rogers Clark Milo Milton Quaife 9781542741323 Books Reviews
An interesting look at life and what fighting during the American Revolution was like. If you were not tough you wouldn't last long back then.
I just keep losing interest in this book and just stopped reading if.
The book covered a "campaign" of which I had learned only small pieces. The fight on the frontier was quite important but, form my perspective, information was a bit sketchy. It is a memoir and thus one does not expect top notch writing skills or excessive humility. It is worth the work to get through it
Very interesting. Ended too soon!
This book is a gripping read. My only reservation is that it is admittedly highly edited, so it is impossible to tell how much is Clark and how much is editing.
Very dry history with abrupt ending. Notes should be integrated into the narrative with editorial assistance
Having read this story in works of fiction, it was good to actually read it from the pen of Clark himself. Did any man do more to save the revolution than George Rogers Clark?
